1st Floor 19 Market Place
A range of events being held to celebrate 'Love Your Local Market' a national campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities.
Stockport's first street food festival will be held on Friday 17th May to launch 'Love Your Local Market'. The event begins at 4.00pm and runs until 9.00pm and is being held in Stockport's historic Market Place. The market will also remain open until 7.00pm.
The event is to be hosted by Guerrilla Eats, a co-operative of gourmet street food traders, fresh from their famous street parties. Refreshments will also be available from High Peak Beer's pop-up bar in the Market Hall.
The 15th century Market Place is home to more than 200 stalls selling just about anything.
Stalls are housed in a Victorian Covered Market Hall, a Speciality Produce Hall and on street, in one of the only remaining traditional street markets in the North West.
It boasts the freshest dairy produce, meat and fish, fruit and vegetables at well below supermarket prices and everything you could need to give your home a makeover, from pictures to curtains and crockery to lamps.
No visit to Stockport would be complete without experiencing the hustle and bustle of market day.
